Plant a Seed, Read -- 2026 summer reading program

Join us at the library this summer for our annual Summer Reading Program. Enjoy story sessions, crafting classes, special events and performers.

  • Kick-Off Party outside the library with foam cannon and snow cone machine in Saturday, May 30th, at 11am.

  • Golden Book is back on May 30th.

  • Story sessions for age birth to 5 every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 am

  • School-Aged Storytime for K-5th grade every Tuesday at 11am

  • Special events and performers every Friday morning and a few other dates.

  • Crafternoons and other specials sprinkled throughout the summer

  • Reading logs for all ages. Earn prizes by reaching your summer reading goals.

Programs
Registration is not required for special events, but it helps to have an estimate of attendance. Please stay with your child for Pre-K Storytime for birth to 5 years old. School aged sessions go by the grade the child just completed.

Carlinville Public Library may photograph or film events in which your child is participating. This gives us permission to possibly publish these photos in the newspaper or on social media. There will be no compensation of any kind made to you or your child now or in the future. These photos will only be used to promote library events. Permission is not required to take part in the library events. If you select no, we will do our very best to make sure that your child's face is not visible in any publicized photos.
