How To Donate To The Library

Material Donations

The library accepts donations of both children and adult titles, new books and old books, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD,  In accepting a gift of materials, the library reserves the privilege of deciding whether items donated should be added to the collection.  Out of the many books and other materials which citizens so generously give, a material, though of value in itself, may be: (1) a duplicate; (2) outdated; and/or (3) in poor condition.  The Carlinville Public Library accepts gift items with the understanding that items which are useful to the library collection will be retained, and other items used in whatever manner the librarian deems best.

Memorials Or Monetary Donations

The library accepts memorials for departed loved ones as well as monetary donations given in honor of others. The library welcomes cash contributions, gifts of real property, stocks and bonds.  It is our custom to expend cash gifts on materials, equipment, or a project which is acceptable to the donor.  Memorials and donations may also be used to purchase specific titles or genres of materials, as suggested by the donor.  Contact the library director for more information on making memorials to the library.  The director may be contacted by:
